Every year, there are tragic stories of children drowning in swimming pools because adults were not watching. It doesn’t take long either; one little babe was only unattended for 90 seconds, and he drowned. It cannot be stressed enough to watch your kids like a hawk at all times when they are even near water. Also, make sure your swimming pool is securly gated to keep out curious toddlers.
A great deal of accidents also occur at a family member’s or friend’s house when the children go over to visit and take a swim. I would suggest going with your kids if you know they’re going to be near water, and if that’s not possible, either make sure someone you trust is watching them or don’t allow them to go at all.
You can make water safety fun by giving the child baby gifts like water toys that will help them stay safe in the pool. Arm floaties are still popular as well as big floating blow up toys. Of course, the best way to stay completely safe is by having at least one adult watching closely at all times, preferrably in the pool with the kids.
When your precious little one is born and you give him or her a unique baby name you want to protect your child with all your strength and life, but many parents who fail to take the proper precautions still face these kinds of tragedies.
